Your Self chec Guide to
Cancers Men Can Get

Click on the cancers listed below to learn which ones can be prevented and which can be detected early enough to be treated before they become life altering.

Breast Cancer
As hard as it is to believe, men can get breast cancer, too.

Colorectal Cancer
Colorectal Cancer is one of the most easily detected, preventable and curable forms of cancer when caught early.

Lung Cancer
Stop smoking. You can drastically reduce the odds of getting lung cancer.

Oral Cancer
Regular dental checkups can detect the early stages of oral cancer or conditions that may lead to oral cancer.

Prostate Cancer
Although screening can find prostate cancer, the medical community is still not sure if the potential benefits of screening outweigh the possible risks if something is found.

Skin Cancer
The cure rate for skin cancer could be 100 percent if all skin cancers were brought to a doctor’s attention before they had a chance to spread.

Testicular Cancer
Testicular cancer is the most common type of cancer in men aged 20-40, but it can occur anytime after age 15. It is highly curable when detected and treated early.

IMPORTANT: The information on the cancer pages of this site was culled by the director of Self chec and initially reviewed by the folks at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, based on the newest information from the national cancer advisory organizations, including, but not limited to, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and American Cancer Society. We recognize that the national cancer advisory organizations sometimes do not agree about specific cancer guidelines, often making it confusing to the public about what to do. That is why we are asking you to err on the side of caution by always consulting a healthcare professional to advise you in the healthy choices you will make. Thank you.
